The funny things they (we) say

I was making a comment on my friends blog about how great it is to have a fun place to write down all those cute and funny things our kids say when they are little......For me if I remembered I would find somewhere to write it and some day I'll find them, I hope. But as I was thinking about it, I realized that I had one of those funny moments myself.......
So a month or so ago, Josh was in his drama class. Ryan, Mark Jr and I were waiting in the car (usually playing cribbage while we wait) we were talking about a recent punishment they were given and Ryan was arguing that it wasn't a 'just' situation. He was upset because he didn't feel as though he had done the same thing Josh did but yet he was being punished also............Well clever, smart, brilliant, Me pipes up.......I quickly rush to the mother mode and I am going to give a great example to explain this so he can understand.........So without much thought, these brilliant things just seem to come to me, I speak......"Ryan, let me give you an example.........let's say you kill someone but you don't do it intentionally and Josh also kills someone and does it on purpose....you both are going" ----------------Now midsentence, I look in the rearview mirror to see Ryan's jaw dropped open and his expression on his face is WHAT???? Well at that moment my brain starts to function again and I just crack up. The words just caught up to my brain and as I see the expression on his face I realize what I was just saying.............We laughed for quite a while, me longer than them, I still chuckle every time I think about it. Where in the world did I get that from??????????????
It wasn't even a good example, I explained to him, because in those situations the punishments would be different and I was trying to explain how sometimes our actions are different but punishment is the same. Why in the world would I go so far out to left field and use killing as any kind of example ever???????

These are a few minutes from one of Mark Jr's games this week. DON'T FORGET TO PAUSE RIGHT AWAY AND LET THE VIDEO LOAD.........
When he is up to bat if you look at what he does at the plate you will see him draw a cross, he does it every time he swings. He saw a friend do it years ago and has done it ever since.......

Happy Birthday MOM

Hmmmmm......Hmmmmm......There are so many things Josh wants to say, he just doesn't know where to begin......A couple minutes into it you see him panic that Ryan just let him know he has 3 more minutes. I love the pained looks on his face.

WHEN YOU START THE VIDEO QUICKLY CLICK PAUSE AND LET IT LOAD, THEN IT SHOULD WORK FINE.......

30 something

FEB 4th was my birthday! I have decided that you are not over the hill until you are over 40.......so since I am still in my 30's and next year when I celebrate my crazy I can't believe I am 40 birthday at least I wont be dealing with being over the hill. By the way not that there is ANYTHING bad about being over 40, I have many friends and a husband who is over 40 and I would NEVER say they were over the hill!!! :)
We got a free jacuzzi for my birthday, it is awesome!!! We use it all the time!!!
All my friends are welcome to come and have a dip anytime! It has been so great, relaxing in it with the boys and watching the stars out at night when it is clear!

Pauli took me to B.J.'s where they have the BEST avocado wraps....my new favorite bad for you food. I also killed her at cribbage, skunking her the first game.

The Ochoa's joined us for dinner at my favorite family restaurant.....Chili's

Last but not least, my best friend through thick and thin!

We Still Have a Dream.......

The boys joined Agape mime team in November '07. They performed songs in MANY churches at Christmastime including our own church. Today they presented "Courtroom" in Oxnard in front of hundreds of people for...Ventura County's 22nd annual celebration of Dr. King's Life, Hopes & Dreams. I am so disappointed with myself for not having my camera or camcorder. This event was open to the public and they were so accepting and appreciative of our mime group it was awesome! Our kids were given a standing ovation. They did such a GREAT job!

MY BEST FRIEND AND I

My men are all in Utah right now. They left Thursday and return tomorrow.
Friday and Saturday night Julie came and we had a sleepover. We rented movies, ate peanut m&m's and stayed up LATE!!! I guess it was on Friday that I said, "Hey, lets color a strand of our hair, let's go to a beauty supply and get the real thing and do it." She is so profound and always keeps me from doing crazy, not good idea things. Such as when I had head lice a couple months ago and I stood in the shower telling her, "I want to shave my hair off, I'm going to shave my head and wear a hat".
She said, "NO, I will not let you do that". So as I told her I wanted to streak our hair with color, she said, with her head bobbing back and forth like a clueless blonde....."OK" :)

While we were at the store the box we looked at had streaks of color all over the girls top of her head, I said, "Let's do that, that looks cool" She at least did stop me from going that far.
But one thing I do get to say about Julie is when we were in Oxnard realizing at Sally Beauty Supply that someone had stolen the contents of the 'intense purple bleaching kit' and we had to call Ventura Sally's that while she held the box of 'intense pink' she was on the phone with the girl in Ventura and said, while looking at the box, "Do you have intense pink in purple"?????? She actually asked twice before I said, "You mean, 'intense purple'........
Blonde moment for Julie...... We love those though, they make us laugh.

So I am guessing when my family comes home they probably wont let me have sleepovers anymore??

OXNARD JUVENILE WALK FOR DIABETES

Sunday was our fundraising walk.....Our team, (team Believe), that you see above raised over $2,900.00 for J.D.R.F.

Thank you, to all our friends and family who gave donations for this cause. We did this for Sidney Posey who was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago with type 1 diabetes.....
God is so great! We 'Believe' these walks and the money raised will bring, sooner than later, a cure for this disease.

It was soooo windy but we had a great time and we will do it again next year!

We hope to have the biggest team, when you all join us!!!!
